Fashion Week Skincare

Achieving great makeup starts with great skincare.

Fashion week (I say week but really it’s a month) can be hard on models skin. They can have several different makeup looks in one day. With running from different shows with castings in between as well as jet lagged from flying it can take a lot out of their skin. Once they sit in my chair for makeup I like to be able to give them some down time whilst I apply skincare with a gentle massage.  Here I have listed products I use in my kit to help dehydrated skin look catwalk ready.

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel £32

Models go through the process of having makeup removed several times in the day. I like to opt for Dermalogica. This one is a refreshing light weight gel which cleanses without drying the skin out.

Ren Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream £32

A day cream designed to help skin prone to redness and sensitivity.  I find this moisturiser hydrating yet light weight.

Bobbi Brown Soothing Balm £45

A versatile concentrated balm that is great for lips, cuticles and as a spot treatment for extra dry areas. Ingredients include avocado with a blend of geranium and rosemary oils.

Another balm I also like to use is the Elizabeth Arden Eight hour cream. This one I consider heavy duty. It is also great for adding sheen to eyelids and cheekbones.

Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant £25

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre £13

A rich moisturiser that is also doubles up as primer before makeup. A favourite amongst pro makeup artists. It allows for a dewy base without clogging pores. Gwyneth Paltrow and karlie Kloss have both known to be fans.

Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner £25

Sweeps away dead skin cells leaving brighter skin. Gentle enough for sensitive skin with plant extracts and Tamarin it brightens, smooths and softens.
